The Witches of Serna

This is a story about a clash of cultures. The peoples of the mountains receive what they think is a divine mandate to reclaim their birthright: lands taken from them during times all but forgotten. They prepare for three years and invade the lowlands.

To the human realms in the warm, fertile lowlands, this is a forgotten conflict. They are caught by surprise and struggling to survive until they receive their own form of divine intervention: magic lost to them centuries ago, passed into myth and legend chooses now, for some reason, to reawaken and throw the tide of battle into question.
