Giraffes Don't Eat Junk Food is the first in the series of Silly Animals Making Healthy Choices children's books from Chris Burt that are designed to help kids embrace positive behaviors, build social emotional skills, and self-regulate in difficult moments. The inspiration came from a tongue-in-cheek conversation Chris had with his sons several years ago as they were sitting in a fast food parking lot. He saw French fries on the ground and said, "Mosquitos don't eat [that restaurant]." They laughed hysterically. So they made up more, with different insects and animals. From that came these books, designed to help young kids learn from animals who are making positive choices ... and twisting those 'don'ts' and 'won'ts' into positive actions.
