A whirlwind summer at eighteen left me with the best and the worst memories. Now, living a life of controlled independence, my heart is kept safe, never to be given to another. A proposal for the perfect marriage with a man I'm not marrying for love, but security is what I need.

But one thing keeps this transactional life from moving forward- unfinished business in Coconut Grove. I must return to the small coastal town to tie up some loose ends, but what I'm not prepared for are the feelings that come rushing back as soon as I'm face-to-face with my first love.

Some might say we were too young to fall in love and for what occurred those warm summer months eight years ago. Our days spent on the shore came with excitement and despair.
