La primera noche dormí sobre la arena a mil millas de todatierra habitada. Estaba más aislado que un náufrago sobre una balsa en medio del océano. Imaginaos, pues, mi sorpresa cuando, al romper el día, me despertó una extraña vocecita que decía:

-Por favor..., ¡dibújame un cordero!

-¿Eh!?

-Dibújame un cordero...

I lived thus, alone, with no one to talk to really, until my plane broke down in the Sahara Desert, six years ago. My engine was broken. And since I had no mechanic or passengers with me, I set out to make a most difficult repair by myself. It was, to me, a matter of life or death. I only had water for eight days.

On my first night I slept on the sand, a thousand miles away from anyone. I was more alone than a castaway floating on a raft in the middle of the ocean. Imagine, then, my surprise, when at the crack of day, I was awakened by a strange little voice saying:

“Please... draw me a sheep!”

“Huh?”

“Draw me a sheep...”
