Alejandro Casona juega con la fantasía y la realidad en el teatro. Estamos ante una escenificación del teatro dentro del teatro, no al modo pirandeliano, sino instrumentando elementos del vodevil. Los árboles mueren de pie nos ofrece un mundo tocado de fantasía y unos personajes que ejemplifican una idea moral. Desde la escena pretenden mostrar y demostrar al espectador el bien, la belleza, la vida en su expresión más genuina, bondadosa y maravillosa. Su función es orientar hacia el sendero de las fuentes cristalinas y limpias de una vida mejor.

Trees Die Standing Up offers us a world touched by fantasy and characters that exemplify a moral idea. From the stage they aim to show and demonstrate to the spectator the good, the beauty, the life in its most genuine, kind and wonderful expression. Their function is to guide towards the path of the crystalline and clean sources of a better life.
