It had been five months since Emily and Rick's wedding, and they both settled happily in the Stanford farmhouse in Maple Ridge, Massachusetts. With Stanford's deep roots and Emily's first-hand knowledge of the past, she decides to place a dedication stone in Stanford Park Square to rename the park.

Emily continues to hear the haunting voice drifting from a swamp alongside the Magic River beyond the dedication stone. Later she confides in Rick as he tries to reassure her. Everything changes when Sylvia, a Spencer witch, shows up at the farmhouse with a notebook containing an ominous message from the past. It's not long before Emily and Rick find themselves in a time that is not their own. Is the message from the old notebook connected to the haunting voice? Are there other ancestors in need of Emily's help? Or will it be Rick this time to save someone from one of the most famous events in history?
