Book Description

This book was written by Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya Kandhlawi (RA) with the sincere intention of encouraging and guiding Muslims regarding the importance and virtues of Hajj. Although the idea of compiling such a book had been suggested to him for two years by Maulana Yusuf, the work only commenced when Allah made the way for it.
The author began writing this book on 3rd Shawwal 1366 AH in Nizamuddin, during the season of Hajj, when his longing to visit the Sacred House of Allah became especially intense. He started this work solely for the sake of Allah, placing his complete trust in Him.

The book is arranged into ten short chapters covering the following subjects:

• Encouragement towards performing Hajj.
• Grave warnings for not performing Hajj.
• Enduring the inconveniences of the Hajj journey.
• The meaning of Hajj.
• The manner of performing Hajj.
• Behavior in Makkah and its virtues.
• On Umrah.
• Visiting the grave of Rasulullah ﷺ.
• The Aadaab (etiquette) for the Ziarat.
• Behavior in Madinah and its virtues.

The concluding section includes an account of the Farewell Hajj of Rasulullah ﷺ, together with inspiring incidents from the pilgrimages of some saintly devotees of Islam.

This work reflects the author's sincere desire to benefit the Ummah by presenting the virtues, guidance, and etiquettes related to Hajj in a clear and concise manner.
