Decamerone

Il "Decamerone" di Giovanni Boccaccio, soprannominato Principe Galeotto, è una raccolta di cento novelle raccontate nell'arco di dieci giorni da una brigata di dieci giovani (sette donne e tre uomini) per sfuggire alla peste che imperversa a Firenze nel 1348. Ogni giornata è dedicata a un tema specifico, e le novelle spaziano dall'amore (felice o tragico) all'ingegno, dalla fortuna alle beffe, offrendo un affresco vivido e complesso della società medievale.

L'opera è celebre per la sua vivacità narrativa, la varietà dei personaggi e la ricchezza linguistica, che contribuirono a definire il volgare fiorentino come lingua letteraria. Il "Decamerone" rappresenta un capolavoro della letteratura italiana e un'importante testimonianza della cultura del Trecento, con la sua attenzione alla realtà umana e il suo spirito laico e innovativo.
