Louis Vuitton Menswear: The Complete Collections

Founded by the French craftsman and entrepreneur Louis Vuitton in 1854, the brand Louis Vuitton rose meteorically from a maker of innovative steamer trunks to become one of the world’s most influential and valuable fashion houses. During his tenure as creative director from 1997 to 2013, Marc Jacobs introduced the company’s first ready-to-wear line, including menswear. Since that time, an outstanding succession of creative directors—Paul Helbers, Kim Jones, Virgil Abloh, and Pharrell Williams—have established a successful men’s fashion department at the house. Their work has produced some of fashion’s most highly regarded and sought-after menswear.

This book, the twelfth in the acclaimed Catwalk series, opens with a concise history of the house and the role that menswear has played within it. The book chronicles the complete record of men’s fashion at Vuitton, organized into sections that begin with profiles of the creative directors. Each menswear collection is introduced by a short essay detailing its influences and highlights and is illustrated with abundant catwalk images. With the deluxe cloth binding and ribbons that are hallmarks of the Catwalk series, this handsome volume showcases hundreds of clothes, shoes, looks, accessories—and of course the models and celebrities who wore them on the runway.
