The Prophets

Abraham J. Heschel (1907—1972) was born in Poland. He was educated in Germany and came to the United States in 1940. Heschel was a professor at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, and was a very active and well known participant in the Civil Rights movement and the protests against the Vietnam War.
