Spooky, disturbing and laced with a hefty dose of gallows humor, People Under the Stairs tells the story of a little boy who in desperation for cash (his impoverished mother is dying of cancer), robs a home. Unfortunately, he chooses the wrong house and ends up stuffed under a staircase with a group of other ill-fated children who barely survive the abuse and near starvation of their captivity. The couple who put them there are wealthy, but totally insane. When the newest child sees the way they abuse their adopted daughter, he decides to take action.
