This Clint Eastwood production is based on the late Canadian author Richard Wagamese's 2012 novel of the same name. Sladen Peltier, Forrest Goodluck and Ajuawak Kapashesit take turns to portray Saul Indian Horse as he grows up in a Canadian-Indian residential school in the 1970s, isolated from his tribe and Ojibwe heritage. With the help of Father Gaston (Michiel Huisman), Saul strives to overcomes racism, stereotypes, and alcoholism as he pursues athletic excellence on the ice hockey pitch.
