Our Used Book Program is BACK and better than ever at Tattered Cover Colfax and Aspen Grove!
The submission guidelines vary a tad by each location, so be sure to keep reading to find out how you can bring in your own gently used books to Colfax or Aspen Grove for in-store credit.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR COLFAX
MAXIMUM SUBMISSION: 15 BOOKS
OUR BUYING HOURS:
Sunday: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Monday - Friday: 12:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Saturday: 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm
UNFORTUNATELY WE CANNOT ACCEPT:

Cloth hard covers without dust jacket
-
Dated material (computer guides, travel guides, almanacs, etc.)
-
Excessively worn condition (torn, moldy, water damaged, yellowed, broken spines, etc.)
-
Underlined, highlighted, or personalized books
-
Textbooks, large sets (encyclopedias, complete series)
-
Book editions exclusive to other retailers (e.g. Target exclusive, Scholastic Book Club editions)

Self-published books, print on demand books, ex-library books, magazines
OUR BOOK BUYING PROCESS:
- Check our appointment availability by calling the store the same day you would like to have your books evaluated. We will do our best to accomodate you outside of scheduled appointment times, but it is not guaranteed!

Bring your ID and your books into the store during our buying hours. All submissions are processed at our Reserve Desk at the south end of the store.

You will meet with our used book buyer, who will count your books and fill out some paperwork for your submission

You will then be asked to wait 15-30 minutes or so while our buyer makes their decisions and returns to present you with a non-negotiable offer

If you choose to accept the offer, you will be issued a Used Book Voucher.

Vouchers are good only for the day they are issued, so they will immediately be exchanged for a Gift Certificate at our Reserve Desk. Gift Certificates do not have an expiration date.
