ABOUT THE BOOK: Dragons Love Tacos: The Sequel
The hilarious sequel to the smokin’ hot New York Times bestseller, perfect for story time. News alert! It has just been discovered that there are NO MORE TACOS left anywhere in the world. This is a huge problem because, as you know, dragons love tacos. If only there was a way for the dragons to travel back in time, to before tacos went extinct. Then they could grab lots of tacos and bring them back! It’s the perfect plan, as long as there’s no spicy salsa. You remember what happened last time...The award-winning creators of Robo-Sauce return with a gut-bustingly hilarious companion to the bestselling phenomenon Dragons Love Tacos.

PRAISE FOR Dragons Love Tacos
"Off-kilter fun for those who like their picture books (and salsa) zesty and fresh." — Publishers Weekly, starred review
"Dragons Love Tacos is a heaping helping of silly. Little kids will relate to the anti-spicy bias and chuckle over Salmieri's watercolor and gouache cartoon illustrations showing literally boatloads of tacos and all sizes of dragons enjoying their favorite food at pool parties, costume parties and, well, taco parties." — San Francisco Chronicle
"The perfect book for kids who love dragons and mild tacos." — Kirkus
"The watercolor, gouache, and colored pencil cartoon illustrations are the real stars here. Regardless of, or perhaps because of, the absurdity of the story, this tale should be a big hit with anyone with an affinity for dragons." — School Library Journal
“What’s not to love about a book with the absurdist premise that dragons love tacos – as long as they’re not too spicy? Rubin and Salmieri bring their kooky sensibility to this irresistible story…this book gets everything right.” — New York Times Book Review
“Ridiculously preposterous, this book is perfect for belly-laughing, reading fun.” — Tampa Tribune
“A hilarious how-to book…funky and a little bit nerdy in its style and artwork, this is a fun read.” — Deseret News
“The zany narrative by Rubin is rhythmic and repetitive, which makes it fun to read aloud And Salmieri’s watercolor and color pencil illustrations are wickedly funny”—San Diego Union-Tribune
“One of the funniest picture books of 2012…I laughed my fool head off.” — Seven Impossible Things Before Breakfast art blog
LENGTH & TOPIC OF PRESENTATION
About 40 minutes, including Q&A. School events will include special activity sheets for classroom use and a reading of Dragons Love Tacos: The Sequel. We would also ask that the teachers solicit questions from students to ask the author in advance, and select no more than three for potential questions. Adam will then ask students to pick these questions (along with a set of predetermined questions that will be sent prior to the event) out of a bag and read the question aloud.
SCHOOL TYPE & GRADES
Elementary School, grades K-2
DESIRED # OF STUDENTS
Maximum 75 students.
Adam’s presentation will be emailed in PDF format prior to the event, so would need a computer, projector, and projection screen. He will bring a wireless remote that plugs into either a Mac or PC computer. He will also need two microphones and microphone stands (one for him and one for students asking questions). And, a bottle of water.
Tattered Cover will design an order form that the school should distribute in advance of the author visit, and again on the day of the event to all student attendees.
