Trace Reddell is associate professor of emergent digital practices at the University of Denver. He will discuss and sign The Sound of Things to Come: An Audible History of the Science Fiction Film ($30.00 University of Minnesota Press), a groundbreaking approach to sound in sci-fi films offers new ways of construing both sonic innovation and science fiction cinema. Approaching movies as sound objects that combine cinematic apparatus and consciousness, Reddell presents a new theory of sonic innovation in the science fiction film.
