This month we’ll see the 1958 Ingmar Bergman classic Wild Strawberries/ Smultronstället.
An aging doctor, selfish and grumpy (played by the fine Swedish director Victor Sjöström), is to receive a major award at a university. His journey by car with his daughter-in-law puts him through the kind of emotional trial that makes him finally worthy of the award, as a person, not just a physician. (91 minutes)
