Tattered Cover Film Series - Ugetsu/ Ugetsu Monogatari

Join the Tattered Cover Book Store, UCD's College of Arts & Media, KUNC 91.5, and the Sie FilmCenter (in the Lowenstein CulturePlex, next door to the Tattered Cover Colfax Avenue) for an exploration of the world of classic movies, hosted by film critic Howie Movshovitz. All programs begin at 1:00 pm. Tickets are $1.00, and are available one hour before the screening from the box office. Parking is available in the parking lot off of Elizabeth or Columbine Streets.

This month we’ll see the 1953 Kenji Mizoguchi classic Ugetsu/ Ugetsu Monogatari.

Roger Ebert calls the film one of the greatest movies ever made. Its story is about two brothers, one greedy, the other envious, both pursuing their natures at a time of widespread war. Director Kenji Mizoguchi ia a master of cinematic imagery. (96 minutes)
