Josh Weil -- The Great Glass Sea & Mike Harvkey -- In The Course of Human Events (Colfax Avenue)

Josh Weil was the recipient of the Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction for his debut novella collection, The New Valley. He has been named a National Book Award “5 Under 35” author, a Fulbright scholar, and was a Jersey Fellow at Columbia University. Weil will sign his debut novel The Great Glass Sea ($27.00 Grove Press), his breathtakingly ambitious novel of love, loss, and light, set amid a bold vision of an alternative present-day Russia.

Mike Harvkey is a graduate fellow of Columbia University’s Creative Writing MFA Program, a winner of Zoetrope All-Story Magazine’s short fiction contest, and a black belt in Kyokushin karate. Harvkey will read from and sign his debut novel In the Course of Human Events ($24.00 Soft Skull). Called “a gripping, bold, and daring novel” by Dinaw Mengestu, the author of All Our Names, Harvkey’s book is equal parts satire and morality play, which shines a sharp light on the radical underbelly of the floundering American Midwest.
