Come celebrate Indie Bookstore Day at our Colfax location on April 30th at 2pm with readings from Denver-based writers David R. Slayton, Cynthia Kuhn, and Lisa Brown Roberts! This is a free event that will include readings, audience Q&A, and a signing line!
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
David R. Slayton grew up outside of Guthrie, Oklahoma, where finding fantasy novels was pretty challenging and finding fantasy novels with diverse characters was downright impossible. David’s debut, White Trash Warlock, was published in 2020 by Blackstone Publishing and was a finalist for the Colorado Book Award. The Adam Binder series continues with Trailer Park Trickster (October 2021), and Deadbeat Druid (October 2022).
Cynthia Kuhn is an English professor at MSU Denver and author of the Lila Maclean Academic Mysteries and Starlit Bookshop Mysteries. Her books have been Agatha Award and William F. Deeck-Malice Domestic Grant winners and were shortlisted for the Daphne du Maurier Award and Lefty Awards. She is past president of Sisters in Crime-Colorado and currently serves on the national board. Originally from upstate New York, she lives in Denver with her family. Lisa Brown Roberts is the award-winning author of The Bookworm Crush, The Replacement Crush, and more. Her novels feature adorkable teens navigating family, friendship, and first love, and have earned praise from Kirkus Reviews, Publishers Weekly, and the School Library Journal. Lisa has presented at the Colorado Teen Literature Conference, Tattered Cover Teen Book Con, Denver BookBar Children’s BookFest, Denver Comic Con, SHINE Summit Day of Empowerment and Education for Young Women, SCBWI Letters and Lines conference, and the Northern Colorado Writers Conference.
