An Afro-Latina's Guide to a White World: A Conversation with Mariefromthe303
About this event
The Hue-Man Experience at Tattered Cover presents local author, Marie Thomas, also known as Mariefromthe303, for a conversation on race, intersectionality, and her latest book, "A Book About Niggas Volume 1: A Book for the Barbershop and College Lecture".
McGregor Square Tattered Cover on Friday, October 8th, at 6pm MST
The Hue-Man Experience at Tattered Cover presents Marie Thomas for an informative, engaging conversation with Tattered Cover's own Afro-Latina, Anya Dickson-Arguello.
As a Colorado-native and creative, Marie has a fresh, authentic voice that deserves to be heard in all spaces. Marie will discuss her latest book, the transition of growing up in a not-so-diverse state to her experience at HBCU, Spelman College, and what projects she's working on next. Guests will be welcome to ask their own questions, and have their copies signed by Marie at the end of the conversation.
The Hue-Man Experience at Tattered Cover is a partnership established with NAACP-nominated businesswoman, Clara Villarosa. Under her guidance, the partnership aims at promoting learning and awareness, while amplifying historically-marginalized BIPOC voices. The Hue-Man Experience at Tattered Cover hosts an event on the second Friday of each month at the McGregor Square location. Learn more here.
