![]() |
The mission of the Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library of the Denver Public Library is to serve as an educational and cultural resource for the people of Denver, Colorado and the world, focusing on the history, literature, art, music, religion and politics of African Americans in Colorado and throughout the Rocky Mountain West.
The Library has three levels, each with its own unique purpose. The first level is a full-service branch library, level two is the Collection Archives and Research Library featuring reference and archival materials that pertain to the history of African Americans in the West, and the third level is a museum that features an exhibit called "Western Legacies." From early pioneers to present-day heroes, visitors can follow the footsteps of African Americans who settled the west. |
