Small Press, Big Reward
| Our Choice As One of the Finest Because there are so many outstanding smaller presses out there deserving of our attention and yours, we've decided to feature a "Small Press Big Reward" Pick-of-the-Month. By regularly placing books from a selected publisher on display, we hope to make it easier for readers to discover the many treasures they have to offer.
Our featured small press this month is Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill
Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill was founded as a small independent trade publisher in 1982 by Louis D. Rubin Jr. and Shannon Ravenel, with the help and support of a small group of friends and financial backers. Their first list contained only five books, all of excellent quality, a feature that defines their publications to this day. In 1989 they were acquired by Workman Publishing, also an independent company, sharing financial support and marketing strategies, but remaining a separate entity. Please visit Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill.
