Tesoro Lecture

Tattered Cover Historic LoDo: Sam Pisciotta will offer a lecture entitled Indian Sign Language: The Language Used During the Great Plains Fur Trade. "Sam has been an interpreter and instructor in Living History & Indian Sign Language for various Federal Parks and Colorado State Historical sites since 1980. These include Bent’s Fort, Fort Laramie, El Pueblo State Museum and Historic site, Fort Garland, Ute Indian Museum, El Rancho de las Golondrinas, Santa Fe, NM and Four Mile House in Denver, CO. Sam has lectured publicly and at school levels from elementary to university on the 19th century, trade on the Santa Fe Trail, the American Mountain Men and the American Civil War. This includes such venues as the Colorado State Muzzle Loaders convention and annual Rocky Mountain College, the Colorado Division of Wildlife, the Pueblo Library District and the Boy Scouts of America, for various other functions and at Philmont Ranch in New Mexico." ~Old West Actors
