Tesoro Cultural Lecture

Historic LoDo: Dr. Quintard Taylor will present a lecture entitled “In Search of the Racial Frontier: African Americans in the American West, 1528-1990.”
Dr. Taylor is the Scott and Dorothy Bullitt Professor of American History at the University of Washington in Seattle, and the author of many books including The Forging of A Black Community and In Search of the Racial Frontier: African Americans in the America West, 1528-1990, in which he fills a major void in American history and reminds us that the African American experience is unlimited by reion or social status. He is also editor of the Race and Culture Series for the University of Oklahoma Press and website director of the award-winning portal www.BlackPast.org, the largest free and unrestricted reference center on African American history on the Internet. BlackPast.org is dedicated to providing reference materials to the general public on African American history in the United States and on the history of people of African ancestry around the world.
