This month we’ll see the 1975 Peter Weir classic Picnic at Hanging Rock.
Australian filmmaker Peter Weir has often been interested in encounters with things beautifully strange, and here it’s with something entirely unknown. On an outing with her school to a fascinating and mysterious rock formation, a high school girl wanders off by herself. When she finally returns, something has happened—but what? Parents and authorities leap to all sorts of conclusions. (110 minutes)
