Historic LoDo: Marc Bekoff is a professor emeritus of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Colorado, Boulder. The author of many books, including The Emotional Lives of Animals and The Ten Trusts (with Jane Goodall), he lives in Boulder, Colorado, and lectures throughout the world. Bekoff will discuss and sign his new book Why Dogs Hump and Bees Get Depressed: The Fascinating Science of Animal Intelligence, Emotions, Friendship, and Conservation (New World Library), which includes selected essays that showcase the fascinating cognitive abilities of animals, as well as their ability for empathy, compassion, grief, humor, joy, and love.
