Fierce Reads with Anna Banks, Leigh Bardugo, Jessica Brody & Emmy Laybourne
| Highlands Ranch: Four teen authors are once more hitting the road for the Macmillan Teen Fierce Reads tour! This year’s line-up includes: |
| Anna Banks, whose first modern mythical novel, Of Poseidon, was a huge hit, is here with her new sequel Of Triton. |
Once again, Banks infuses Emma and Galen’s points of view with humor, intrigue, and waves of romance. She lives with her husband and daughter in the Florida Panhandle, a southern accent compared to New Yorkers, and enjoys food cooked with real fat. She can't walk in high heels, but is very good at holding still in them. If you put chocolate in front of her, you must not have wanted it anyway.
| Leigh Bardugo, with her new epic fantasy Siege and Storm. |
Leigh Bardugo was born in Jerusalem, gew up in Los Angeles, and graduated from Yale University. These days, she hides out in Hollywood, where she indulges her fondness for glamour, ghouls, and costuming in her other life as a makeup artist in Hollywood. She can occasionally be heard singing with her band, Captain Automatic. Her first novel, Shadow and Bone, was a New York Times bestseller.
| Jessica Brody, author of a new science fiction romance [Un]Remembered, is the author of 52 Reasons to Hate My Father, My Life
Undecided, and The Karma Club, as well as adult novels. Sometimes she wishes her memories
could be erased so she could reread all her favorite books for the first
time. She splits her time between California and Colorado. |
Emmy Laybourne, author of the modern apocalyptic novel Monument 14: Sky on Fire, is a novelist, teacher, and former character actress. Before her life as an author, Emmy performed original comedy on Comedy Central, MTV, and VH1; and acted in the movies Superstar, The In-Laws, and Nancy Drew, among others. Nowadays, Emmy loves working on the Monument 14 trilogy, and lives outside New York City with her husband, two kids, and a flock of six nifty chickens.
