Betsy Schwarm with Operatic Insights

Colfax Avenue: Betsy Schwarm is a historian who happens to know a thing or two about classical music, thanks to twenty years on the air with classical radio stations including KVOD. Currently, she serves on the music faculty of Metropolitan State University of Denver, teaches general interest music education programs for DU’s University College and other area organizations, gives pre-performance lectures for Opera Colorado and the Colorado Symphony, and writes program notes for performing arts groups on the national and international scene, including the Cleveland Orchestra, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, and the Huntsville Symphony, as well as the Encyclopedia Britannica. Schwarm will discuss and sign her new Operatic Insights: Understanding and Enjoying Great Music for the Stage (Betsy Schwarm), her second collection of essays on classical music.
