An Afternoon with the Denver Center Theatre Company and Kent Thompson
Mar 17 2010 12:00 pm
Historic LoDo: Kent Thompson, Artistic Director for the Denver Center Theatre Company (DCTC), will discuss the 2011 season and offer unique insight into how the plays are selected for a season. Thompson is in his fifth season with the DCTC. In his first four Denver seasons, he directed productions of Dusty and the Big Bad World, Plainsong, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, Amadeus, King Lear, and Measure for Measure. Prior to moving to Denver he was Producing Artistic Director of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival for 16 years. Two of Kent’s major accomplishments since moving to Denver have been the establishment of the Women’s Voices Fund, commissioning and developing new plays by women, and the Colorado New Play Summit, quickly becoming a premier national festival for new American plays. Guests are invited to join us for an interactive discussion with one of Denver’s top cultural leaders. |
