Denver FilmCenter/Colfax: Join the Tattered Cover Book Store, UCD’s College of Arts & Media, Colorado Public Radio, and the new Denver FilmCenter/Colfax (in the Lowenstein CulturePlex, next door to the Tattered Cover Colfax Avenue) for an exploration of the world of classic movies, hosted by Colorado Public Radio film critic Howie Movshovitz at the Denver FilmCenter/Colfax. All programs begin at 2:00 pm. Admission is free, but tickets are required from the box office. Tickets are available one hour before screening. Parking is avilable in the parking lot off of Elizabeth or Columbine Streets. This month we’ll see the 1958 Ronald Neame classic The Horse’s Mouth. Alec Guinness plays the loony, grubby painter Gulley Jimson in this adaptation of the wacky novel by Joyce Cary. A wealthy couple hires Jimson to make an art work in their home while they are away. Bad idea, from their point of view.(97 minutes) For information on the Denver FilmCenter go to denverfilm.org For a PDF of our Tattered Cover Film Series flyer, please click Tattered Cover Film Series flyer.
