Presentation & Booksigning with Louise Penny: The Beautiful Mystery
Start: 7:30 pm
Historic LoDo: New York Times bestselling author Louise Penny, one of the most acclaimed crime writers of our time, will read from and sign her new book The Beautiful Mystery (Minotaur), volume eight in her beloved Chief Inspector Gamache series. “Louise Penny has crafted an almost perfect crime—haunting, puzzling, brilliant and indeed a most beautiful mystery. Chief Inspector Gamache is one of my favorite characters in fiction. Here he must penetrate a cloistered monastery deep in the northern woods of Quebec, where a murdered monk is his ticket to get in. This is a tour-de-force for Penny, and a thrilling, intelligent read.” —Linda Fairstein Can’t make it to the signing? Presentation & Booksigning with Shaul Gabbay & Amin Kazak: One Land Two Stories
Start: 7:30 pm
Colfax Avenue: Shaul Gabbay was born and raised in Tel Aviv. The son of Jewish Arab refugees, he was educated in Israel, received his Ph.D. from Columbia University, and completed his postdoctoral studies at the University of Chicago. Born in Haifa, Amin Kazak became a Palestinian refugee in 1948. Kazak completed advanced degrees from the American University in Beirut, Lebanon, and earned a Ph.D from the University of Denver. Gabbay and Kazak will discuss and sign their important new book One Land Two Stories (Livingston Publishing House). As colleagues who teach this eternal struggle to students in their classrooms, the authors have established a close friendship without denying their opposing viewpoints, and convictions. Where governments repeatedly fail, their mutual respect succeeds.   Can’t make it to the signing? Just click to request an autographed copy☞ books@tatteredcover.com
