Historic LoDo: The Last Great Ape Organization (LAGA), founded by Tel Aviv-born journalist and photojournalist Ofir Drori, is responsible for the first wildlife-protection arrest in all of east Africa, turning the tide and setting the standard for wildlife protection for the modern era. David McDannald, an American writer, who splits his time between caring for a West Texas ranch and traveling in Africa and South America, met Ofir in Kenya in 2000 and they became best friends. McDannald will discuss and sign the new book The Last Great Ape: A Journey Through Africa and a Fight for the Heart of the Continent (Pegasus Books), which he co-wrote with Ofir Drori.
