Start: 7:30 pm
Highlands Ranch: Award winning Denver radio and TV broadcaster Pat McNulty (the first self-published author to print his book on the Tattered Cover Press’s Espresso Book Machine!), will read from and sign his new novel Great Music Radio.com (Word Construction Publishing). But this won’t be just a “normal” reading! Pat and friends will reenact a portion of Chapter 17 where his hero, Jim Jassbach, is being roasted by friends and family in New York City before moving back to Colorado to build the world’s soon-to-be most famous radio station. Great Music Radio.com combines historical fiction and modern fiction into a fascinating look at the development of music and radio. It is a humorous and smart page turner, a fantastic “beach read” (mountain read?), and ultimately, a love story from two different moments in time.

Colfax Avenue: Investigative journalist Doug Fine, author of the bestselling memoir Farewell, My Subaru: An Epic Adventure in Local Living, will discuss and sign his new book Too High to Fail: Cannabis and the New Green Economic Revolution (Penguin). In this in-depth look at the burgeoning legal cannabis industry, “Fine examines how the American people have borne the massive economic and social expenditures of the failed Drug War, which is ‘as unconscionably wrong for America as segregation and DDT.’ A captivating, solidly documented work rendered with wit and humor..” —Kirkus (Starred Review)
