Start: 7:30 pm
Colfax Avenue: Larry Schweiger is president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation, the United States’ largest conservation organization. He also serves on the board of directors of the Alliance for Climate Protection and has received many awards for his conservation efforts. Schweiger will discuss and sign his book Last Chance: Preserving Life on Earth ($22.95 Fulcrum). With an engaging, down-to-earth tone, and a dash of wit, Schweiger breaks down the science behind our looming environmental catastrophe. Not letting go of hope, he also offers practical solutions and proposes a plan of action for every day citizens. Last Chance will inspire each of us to take part in restoring the vital connection to our natural world before it’s too late. Start: 7:30 pm
Historic LoDo: Joshua Ferris’s first novel, Then We Came to the End, won the PEN/Hemingway Award and was a National Book Award finalist. His fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, Granta, Best New American Voices, New Stories from the South, Prairie Schooner, and The Iowa Review. Ferris will read from and sign his new novel The Unnamed ($24.99 Reagan Arthur), a dazzling novel about a marriage and a family and the unseen forces of nature and desire that seem to threaten them both. It is the heartbreaking story of a life taken for granted and what happens when that life is abruptly and irrevocably taken away. Free numbered tickets for a place in the booksigning line will be available at 6:30 pm. Seating for the presentation prior to the booksigning is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis to ticketed customers only.
