Historic LoDo: Veterans Helping Veterans Now (VHVnow) joins us in presenting Jon Krakauer, the bestselling author of Into the Wild, Into Thin Air, and Under the Banner of Heaven, as he discusses and sign his new book Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman ($27.95 Random House), a stunning, eloquent account of a remarkable young man’s haunting journey. At this event there will be a silent auction for signed first editions of all of Jon Krakauer’s books to benefit VHVnow. Mr. Krakauer will match the winning bids as well as any additional donations to VHVnow. 275 free tickets for the event will be available Tuesday, September 15, beginning at 9:00 am, with the purchase of Where Men Win Glory at any Tattered Cover location. Each ticket will admit one person to the event hall for the presentation and will reserve one numbered place in the signing line. Additional tickets for the booksigning line only will be available beginning at 6:30 pm on the day of the event. Those who do not get one of the first 275 tickets should still be able to hear Mr. Krakauer, though not see his presentation. They will be able to get books signed.
