Historic LoDo: Kathleen Haggerty of Sherpa Journeys, LLC, a Colorado-based trekking company specializing in Nepal’s Everest region, will discuss the unique Sherpa tribe culture and trekking and climbing in the high Himalayan mountain range of Nepal. She’ll show photos of Fabrizio Zangrilli, one of the top alpinists in the country, and expedition guide for Sherpa Journeys, who is currently executing the first guided expedition on K2. And she’ll discuss Pasang Lamu Sherpa, a local woman in Louisville who is the youngest woman to climb Everest, the first woman to teach climbing skills in Nepal, and the first woman to ascend an even more difficult mountain, Nangpai Gosam II.
