Jack and Annie went to Austria and helped Mozart.

Do you think the book's title and cover fit the book? I think that the book was like the title Moonlight on the Magic Flute. They played the flute in the magic garden.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be? If I was a character, I would be Annie because she gets to wear a pink poofy dress and sings beautifully.

Meet the Castle Glower and the children who will do anything for the castle.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be? I would be Lillia because she is pretty and has long hair.

What came as a surprise in the book? It was surprising that the castle dies.

I Funny by James Patterson

Jamie is risking everything he's got on a talent he doesn't think he has, comedy. Oh and he's in a wheelchair and has the meanest (adoptive) brother ever.

Did this book make you laugh? This book made me laugh my butt off not to mention bust a gut, big time!! This is one of the funniest books out there.

What confuses you in this book? One thing that confuses me is why cool girl (his friend) suddenly started being friends with Jamie.

Love That Dog by Sharon Creech

This is a poem book about a boy named Jack and he has a dog named Sky. This book is about that dog and his favorite poet.

Did this book make you cry? This book made me cry a little bit because his dog gets hit by a car in the end and never opens his eyes again.

What came as a surprise in the book? I think that the author killing off the dog in the end was very surprising to me because usually authors don't kill off the main character (or at least that is what I think).

This book is about how dogs are unleashed in the forest and become a threat to the cats.

Did this book make you cry? Because cats die.

Are any of the book's characters at all like you? I think Firestar is brave and honest like me.

Over Sea, Under Stone by Susan Cooper

This book was about a big mystery of King Arthur. Three little children find a manuscript in the attic of their summer house anf that was where the quest started.

Which part of the book was your favorite to read? My favorite part to read was the whole mystery in it because I like mystery books once in a while. I could have done without the scariness in the book.

Do you think the book's title and cover fit the book? I really do because in their quest they find the holy grail over the sea and under stone!

In a buffalo, a stingray and a ball called plastic all have their adventures.

Did this book make you laugh? The book made me laugh because there's a peanut butter buffalo!

Do you think the book's title and cover fit the book? I think the cover fits the book because there's a buffalo, ball and stingray on it.

One + One = Blue by MJ Auch

In One + One = Blue, Basil and Tenzie both have parental issues and both have synesthesia. So when Carly (Basil's Mom) comes back (after abandoning him) to take care of him, his life is turned upside down and only Tenzie can help him through it.

Did this book make you sad? This book made me sad nad mad because Carly and Tenzie's parents really don't seem to care about their children.

What came as a surprise in the book?A surprise was that Tenzie thought of running away in the first place.

Mr Popper's Penguins is about a family who gets two penguins who make a family and they get trained and get money to act and then at the end, the penguins are the first to live in the North Pole.

Do you think the book's title and cover fit the book? I think the books title and cover fit the book because there are a lot of penguins in the story.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be? If I could be a character, I would be Mr. Popper because he gets to take care of a lot of penguins.

This book is about a kid who lives in an inn and makes friends with the new cook and goes to a lot of baseball stadiums and got the Dogers autographs.

Do you think the book's title and cover fit the book? Yes I do, because it has the main characters on it and a baseball.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be? I would be the narrator because he had many adventures with Davey.

This book is about a young boy who finds out that he is a wizard and has adventures at his new school.

Are any of the book's characters at all like you? Hermione is like me because we are both girls, brown hair, and we are smart.

Do you think the book's title and cover fit the book? The cover of Harry Potter fits the book because he is flying on his broom and in the book he flies.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J. K. Rowling

The second Harry Potter book was about Harry and his friends who find a secret chamber hidden in the castle.

What makes you wonder and question things? I wonder why the basilisk could kill by looking straight into a person's eye.

Which part of the book could you do without? The book could do without the attention on the Dursleys.

There was a really mature boy and his Dad wanted to go to the aquarium. Elliot (the son) asked for money to buy a penguin.

Do you think the book's title and cover fit the book? I think the title fit the book because it shows Elliot finding a penguin.

What came as a surprise in the book? The thing that surprises me is when the Dad had a big pet turtle.

The cat and fish are best friends. One day the cat has to set the fish free.

Did this book make you sad? It made me sad when I heard the fish was too big for his tank.

Did you like how the book ended? Even though they had to set the fish free the cat and the fish are still friends.

I Want My Hat Back by Jon Klassen

A seal lost his hat, he asked a lot of people and one one of them lied but he eventually got his hat.

Did this book make you laugh? When the rabbit lied it was funny, it made me laugh.

What came as a surprise in this book? I was surprised to see the rabbit wearing the hat in the end.

The Wolf Who Cried Boy by Bob Hartman

A wolf keeps lying and telling his parents he sees a boy but it's a lie and when he is actually serious his parents didn't believe him.

Did anything in the book remind you of your life? Nothing in the book reminded me of my life.

What came as a surprise in this book? That there was a whole group of boy scouts.

At first Walter treated the environment bad but then he traveled through time in his dream and the trash and smoke and when he woke up he fixed everything outside.

How did this book make you feel? The book made me worried because when it showed him dreaming it was strange.

It is just like 3 Little Pigs but with wolves and they try to find homes and they build them.

Did anything in the book remind you of your life? Yes, this book reminds me of my Dad because he builds houses.

What came as a suprise in the book? The surprise was it was opposite than the other books.

Do you think the book's title and cover fit the book? The book's title fits the book, because they all wore striped pajamas.

A girl dies from leukemia because of the bombs in Japan.

Did anything in the book remind you of your life? The part of Sadako dying reminds me of when my cat died.

Are any of the book's characters at all like you? Yes, Sadako is like me, because I almost had cancer.

Did this book make you smile? It made me smile because the Nazis never found her.

Strega Nona has a dream about her grama asking for her to take a vacation, but everything is a mess when she comes home.

Did this book make you smile? The book made me smile, because Strega Nona was so happy on her vacation.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be? I'd be Monroe Huff because he has explored a lot of caves, and caves are my favorite kind of landscape.

What came as a surprise in the book? My surprise was that Monroe Huff survived the earthquake in the cave.

Timmy is a detective trying to be the best one of the town.

Did this book make you laugh? This book made me laugh. Stephan Pastis is a great writer.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be? If I had to be a character in the book I would be Total, Timmy's loyal polar bear.

Micro by Michael Crichton

The novel's plot is basically when several scientists are deceived by a nanotechnology company, get shrunk to the size of ants, and have to traverse through a Hawaiian jungle, dense with life, to a building where they can return to normal size.

Do you think the book's title and cover fit the book? The book's cover actually fit it very well; it showed the size of the humans when they are shrunk down. The title fit it because, well the humans are very small.

What came as a surprise in the book? You're following the life of a man named Peter, how he's dealing with being shrunk, when all of a sudden he is killed! I did not expect them to kill the main character.

It's about a girl who goes to a spy school. She meets a regular boy who she can never tell him her true identity.

Are any of the book's characters at all like you? I think Cammie Morgan, who has wanted to be a spy since she was little, is like me.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be? I would want to be Cammie because she is getting chased by the circle.

The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate

The One and Only Ivan is about a dog, a gorilla, and 2 elephants who live in an arcade in a mall. But after Stella (the biggest elephant) dies, it's up to Ivan to care for Ruby. After that people start to protest about how poorly they are treated and take them to the zoo.

Did this book make you cry? The One and Only Ivan made my eyes water a little because when Ivan draws a huge picture to help Ruby get a better life in the zoo, it told the reader he cared.

Who else should read this book? I think almost everyone would enjoy this book, because it can change the way you see animals. I also recommend this book for animal lovers.

Double Fudge by Judy Blume

Double Fudge is about when Fudge becomes obessed with money. But when they meet their long lost relatives things get a bit out of control.

Did this book make you laugh? This book amde me laugh a lot because of Fudge's lack of not understanding a thing like thinking a classmate is Peter's girlfriend.

Did anything in the book remind you of your life? This book reminds me of my life because I have a crazy brother the same age as Fudge.

Happily Ever After: Goldilocks and the Just Right Club by Tony Bradman

Goldilocks went to the three bears house then got caught so she switched school. She tried to find a group. The girls didn't work, neither the boys, so she hung out with Little Red Riding Hood and Baby Bear.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be? Probably Little Red because she seemed so nice.

Did anything in the book remind you of your life? I related to Goldilocks trying to find the perfect group.

Paul Bunyan by Steven Kellogg

He was born a big baby that always got into trouble. He became a logger and has a blue ox as a pet. He travelled across the country clearing trees for the pioneers from Maine to California.

Which part of the book was your favorite to read?  My favorite part was when his parents anchored his cradle in the harbor and he fed the seals.

Did this book make you laugh? This book made me laugh because he could rip up trees when he was a baby.

John Henry by Julius Lester

He was a baby that grew and grew and grew. He helped to build a road and then he was helping to build a tunnel through a mountain he raced as a steam drill and won. When he was finished he was so tired that he died. A rainbow always followed him and they say he was buried at the White House. If you go there you can hear him singing.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be?  I would like to be John Henry because he was strong and he helped people.

Which part of the book was your favorite to read? My favorite part was when he raced against the horse and no one saw him because he was so fast.

Johnny Appleseed by Steven Kellogg

He was born and liked to pick apples. He decided to travel and chop down trees to plant apple orchards all over the land. He helped people and loved to tell stories. When he was 75 he got sick for the first time and he died. People still tell his stories.

Which part of the book was your favorite to read?  I liked Johnny because he helped people and he planted apple trees.

Did this book make you smile? This story made me smile because I like apples and also like helping people.

Pecos Bill by Steven Kellogg

He went fishing and was pulled overboard and a coyote found him and adopted him and was raised by coyotes. He then was found by a cowboy that turned him into a cowboy. He then wrestled and fought snakes and wild animals and taught a gang how to be ranch hands. They found every steer in Texas and then he met a girl and asked her to marry him.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be?  I would be Bill because he was adventurous, he could catch things and lived with coyotes.

Which part of the book was your favorite to read? My favorite part of the book was when Bill caught the rattle snale and squeezed it until all of the venom came out and then he used it as a laso.

Magic Tree House #1: Dinosaurs Before Dark by Mary Pope Osborne

Jack and Annie found a tree house and went inside. They found and read a book about dinosaurs and the tree house started spinning and took them to the land of dinosaurs. They played with the dinosaurs and ran from the dinosaurs back into the tree house and returned home.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be?  I would be Jack because he likes reading books and so do I. He's adventurous and plays with animals.

Did this book make you smile? This story made me smile because I really like books, tree houses, animals and dinosaurs, just like the kids in the book.

The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary

The family went on a trip and stayed at a hotel. There was a mouse in their hotel room that found a toy motorcycle and drove it into a trash can. The family got scared of the mouse in the trash and dropped it and the mouse got out and rode his motorcycle into his mouse hole.

Did you like how the book ended?  I like how the book ended because he was back with his family after they got split up.

Did this book make you laugh? The book made me laugh because there was a mouse in the hotel and it scared the Mom.

Clary Fray starts to notice things around her that aren't supposed to be real, then her life changes when her mother is kidnapped and a stranger takes hold of her heart.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be?  If I could be any character in this book, I would want to be Clary. She is the one that changes everything.

What came as a surprise in the book? The end came as a suprise to me in this book. I don't think anyone expected THAT as an ending.

What came as a surprise in the book? I was surprised to learn that cranberries grew in bogs.

Who else should read this book? This book is for animal lovers ages 7 -12.

Wings of Fire: The Hidden Kingdom by Tui T. Sutherland

Glory the Rainwing dragon and her friends go to visit her tribe in the jungle. They discover that Rainwings suddenly are going missing and then Glory gets captured too. Glory escapes, becomes queen of the Rainwings, and then they celebrate.

Are any of the book’s characters at all like you? I think I am most like Starflight the Nightwing, even though I'm not that timid. We are alike because we have a fair amount of intelligence, and we both like black.

Who else should read this book? I think my friend Alison should read this book because this is the 3rd book in the series, and it's all about her favorite character. I think Dad shouldn't read this book because he hates fantasy.

Pokémon Adventures: Gold & Silver, Vol. 14 by Hidenori Kusaka

This is the 14th (and last) book in the series, so there was a lot of final battles. They revealed the main villain (who happened to be an old man) and defeated him and his followers. Then all the main characters travel together.

Are any of the book’s characters at all like you? I think the character most like me is Yellow. We are both compassionate, gentle, and have some sort of healing powers. (we're also both named after colors!)

What came as a surprise in the book? There were two surprises in this book. First, that the main villain was an old man , and second, that Yellow, who I thought was a boy, is a girl!

Magic Tree House #50: Hurry Up, Houdini! by Mary Pope Osborne

Two siblings, Jack and Annie, are going on a quest to find the secret of the Great Houdini. They do Houdini's opening act, watch his show, then meet him afterward for ice cream and find out his secret.

Did anything in the book remind you of your life? A lot of things in the book reminded me of my life because I have done a report on Houdini before. Much of the book reflects my report.

Do you think the book’s title and cover fit the book? I think the book's cover and title fit well because Houdini comes a little late for his show, and the cover shows Jack and Annie doing Houdini's opening act.

It was fiction and it's about two friends who never ment to like each other, but when Bean was doing a trick on her older sister and that's when they become friends.

Do you think the book’s title and cover fit the book? Yes. The book cover is a picture of Ivy and Bean.

Are any of the book’s characters at all like you? Bean is like me because she has an older sister like me and we both like to play outside.

The book was about a girl named Clementine who got to be friend of the week in her class.

Did anything in the book remind you of your life? The book remined me when I was star of the week. Star of the week is just like friend of the week.

Who else should read this book? I think everybody should read this book. It is a really good book series. I love it.

The book was about a girl who had to be at two different parties at once and three different costumes at once.

Do you think the book’s title and cover fit the book? I think the book's title and cover fit perfectly. The cover had a picture of a girl who has a balloon and party hat.

Did you like how the book ended? I like how the book ended. It was a really good ending for the book. It ended with people laughing and being happy.

Junie B. Jones is graduating from Kindergarten! She accidentally spills grape juice on her gown. Then her friends all paint their gowns.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be? If I could be a character in the book I would be Lucille. Lucille is very lucky and she lives in a mansion.

MR Badger and the Big Surprise by Leigh Hobbs

It was a book about Mr. Badger getting a fancy birthday aprty set up. He needs to make sure everything is perfect.

Did you like how the book ended? I like how the book ended because it was also Mr. Badger's birthday and when he walked into his house everybody was there.

What came as a surprise in the book? What came as a surprise in the book was that the party got messed up by the little girl and no one else.

The old clock was special, it had a handwritten notebook about the life of someone who died.

Which part of the book was your favorite to read? My favorite part of the book was when Nancy found the old clock and opened it up to find the notebook.

The book was interesting because it was like letters being written back and forth. It was just letters. It was one of the best books I have ever read.

What came as a surprise in the book? I thought it was surprising to see a book written with letters instead of writing.

Did you like how the book ended? I liked how the book ended because there was a house for sale that a little boy lived in and he saved money to buy the house.

This book is about a boy named Sylvester who has a ton of pebbles. Later he finds a special one that he can wish for anything he wants.

Did this book make you laugh? This book makes me feel jealous because he has a bunch of pebbles and I don't.

What came as a surprise in the book? I was surprised that the pebble was like a wishing wand.

This book is about an elephant and a pig. Gerald the elephant thinks pigs make him sneeze but really it's just a cold.

A girl named Lisa has heer own stuffed bear. Lisa and her Mom went to Padro's Laundry. the bear, Corduroy, noticed everybody had a pocket but him, so he went looking for a pocket.

This book is about a pigeon who really wants a puppy. One day she sees a puppy. She's real scared. She doesn't want a puppy any more instead she wants a walrus.

Did this book make you laugh? This book made me laugh because she wants a puppy but when she sees the puppy she thinks it's too big so changes her mind, instead of a puppy she wants a walrus.

Did anything in the book remind you of your life? Yes because we both want a puppy but we don't have one.

It's about Theresa and Barbie, they both love pets and they own a pet store and take care of a bunch of animals.

This book is about a little girl named Nim who lives alone on an island with her dad. But Nim found friends in strange ways.

It's about a lady from Basra and she owns a library. The war is going on so she gives the books to her friend so he could keep them safe.

Did this book make you sad? This book made me sad because the war burned the library, but at least the books are saved.

This book is about a horse that lives with his master with a nice groom. But he is old. Beauty gets to be on sale, she gets sent to a bunch of people and she is very miserable.

Astrid is a new neighbor. She is a bid bully. Later she gets into an accident. The nice neighbor helps even though she was mean to her. After that they become best friends.

Did this book make you smile? This book makes me smile because at the end the neighbor and Astrid become friends.

Who else should read this book? I think my friend Gracie should read it because she'll think it's funny.

The Black Dog by Levi Pinfold

This book is about a big dog outside and each family member describes it as a bigger animal. But the youngest one was brave enough to run around and have the dog chase Small.

If you could be any character in the book, who would you be? I would want to be Small because he's brave.

Across the Universe by Beth Revis

The plot was a young girl was bio-freezed along with her parents, to be put on a spaceship headed for a new world. A boy discovers her body, unfrozen. They have to figure out who is doing it and why.

What came as a surprise in the book? This book was a surprise because it is lesser known and I didn't expect it to be very good, while it was one of the best romantic novels I've read.

Do you think the book’s title and cover fit the book? The cover is beautiful, with the universe and main characters' faces almost touching but not quite.
