As Long as Space Endures: Essays on the Kalacakra Tantra in Honor of H.H. the Dalai Lama (Hardcover)
The Kalacakra Tantra (Kalacakra means "wheel of time") is a tradition of Buddhist theory and practice whose root text treats a fantastic expanse of knowledge ranging from observations of the cosmos to investigations of meditative states and vital bodily energies. In the Tibetan-speaking world, a public Kalacakra initiation remains the most sought-after event in the life of a devout Buddhist.
The Fourteenth Dalai Lama has long had a strong connection with the Kalacakra Tantra; he brought the initiation to the West in 1981, performing it in the United States, Switzerland, Spain, and Australia. This volume has been created to celebrate his long involvement with the Kalacakra teachings. The twenty-five contributors, scholars who have made tantric studies their specialty, have contributed translations of works by great Indian and Tibetan Kalacakra masters, analyses of historical figures, methods of practice, essays on medicine ritual expertise, and ethical discipline. The collection also includes practical advice for Western students and practitioners from contemporary Tibetan Kalacakra masters.
About the Author
Born on the beautiful island of St. Thomas, U.S.V.I; where we lived until my husband and I decided to move to Florida with our family. I am an Ordained Minister of Christ and head a ministry of reconciliation and empowerment called Alabaster Box for 20 years, which focuses on going after the deeper things of God. I teach on entering into the Presence of God through Worship and surrendering to the Holy Spirit. My personal focus is on Intercessory Prayer and learning to hear from God through His Word; the Bible and in spending time alone with him from which comes some of the chapters written in this book: Where Angels Tread. This work is a collaboration of the Holy Spirit's timing and wisdom; His willingness to work with a very flawed but truly willing heart to get on paper what He desired. I've had so many encounters with the Supernatural realm of God, it would be impossible to write them all; some of them are so precious and so amazing, I wouldn't be able to even find the words to begin to describe the things I've seen. But there are also experiences that the Lord saw fit to let others be a witness to and they have seen for themselves the things that God can do and they are amazed! I pray that you take away from this book the realization that God is not only very real, but that he is also very eager to be a great part of our lives if we would only let Him have His way, and that you walk away knowing that anything is possible for anyone who has decided they will totally surrender and allow Jesus Christ to have His way through and in them
