Author Steve Tomecek is a geologist who specializes in the study of soils, which is why he is known as "The Dirtmeister." When he is not digging in the dirt, he is a nonfiction author who has written more that 40 books for both children and teachers, including"Bouncing & Bending Light," the 1996 winner if the American Institute of Physics Science Writing Award.
