After being poisoned by his uncle as a guinea pig in a drug-testing trial, Ryan must now rid his body of the toxins through hard exercise and self-control. When the opportunity arises to go to California to learn road-bike racing from his mother's cousin, Ryan and his friends jump at the chance. What they don't realize is that confederates of Ryan's uncle think the four friends still know too much. Suddenly they find themselves in the crosshairs of a gang that will go to any length to shut them up.
